5G in all districts by 2022 should be the objective of NDCP 2018, recommends IoT paneledit

According to the recommendations of the Internet of things (IoT) panel of the Institute of Engineering and technology (IET), the National Digital Communications Plan (NDCP), 2018 should aim to introduce 5G in all districts of India by 2022. The members of the panel reviewed the NDCP keeping in mind six aspects, namely Infrastructure, Innovation, Safety and Security, Standards, Support Requirements, and Regulation.

The Internet of Things Panel of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (The IET) shared their opinion on the draft National Digital Communication Policy (NDCP) 2018. The Position Statement shared lays out the recommendations of the panel members to the Department of Telecom. The document was presented to Shri N Sivasailam, Special Secretary, DoT in New Delhi earlier this month.

It was part of one of the recommendations that were submitted to to N. Sivasailam, Special Secretary, DoT in New Delhi earlier this month.

A week after a portion of Lloyd’s Estate residential towers’ compound wall collapsed into an adjoining pit in Wadala, the Institution of Engineers (IEI), Maharashtra, and the Practising Engineers, Architects and Town Planners Association (PEATA), have decided to press the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to register geotechnical engineers. IEI and PEATA will hold a meeting on July 3 in this regard.
