IKEA’s first Indian store to open in Hyderabad on August 9edit
Promising to provide about 7,500 home furnishing products at attractive prices, Swedish furniture maker IKEA has announced that its first Indian outlet will be launched in Hyderabad on August 9. The launch was earlier planned for July 19 but got delayed.

Hyderabad to host the next World Design Assemblyedit
Hyderabad is fast becoming the design capital of the country. On the heels of the news that Swedish furniture retailer IKEA will throw open the doors to its massive store in Hyderabad on August 9 — its first in India — comes news of another first for the city. The World Design Organization (WDO) has announced that its 31st World Design Assembly will be held in Hyderabad in tandem with a five-day local design event organized by India Design Forum (IDF). Under the theme Humanizing Design, the design showcase will include installations, interventions, exhibitions, and workshops that demonstrate the power of design to improve lives.
