Riding high on popular central schemes, including the flagship PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the Yogi Adityanath government has made yet another bid to reach out to the farmers by making a state budgetary allocation of over Rs 12,800 crore to the agricultural sector in 2022-23. In 2021-22, the state government had allocated Rs 12,340 crore which was later revised to Rs 11,430 crore. Of the total allocation, over Rs 6,200 crore has been earmarked for activities related to crop cultivation, while over Rs 1,100 crore has been allocated for soil and water conservation.
