While the IEEE Spectrum report rated Python as one, TIOBE Index rated Java as number one. The IT wing of the Road Transport Authority (RTA) is likely to finalise tenders for implementation of ‘Project Abhaya’ on August 20. The project is an IoT-based security system aimed at ensuring safety of women and girl children while using public transport. According to the RTA officials, the department had designed the project two years ago and a proposal was sent to the Centre seeking its nod for implementation of the project on a pilot basis in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Govt may not reach 100GW solar target by 2022: reportedit

India will not be able to achieve its ambitious target of generating 100GW solar power by 2022, ratings agency Crisil said. In a report, Crisil’s industry research arm said that in the bestcase scenario, the country will touch 78-80 GW, against the current capacity of 21.65 GW. Crisil expects an additional 56-58GWof solar capacity addition between fiscals 2019 and 2023. While this is a vast improvement from the 20GW added during 201418, it still falls short of the National Solar Mission target by a fifth.
