Power demand peaks to 20,000MWedit

The generation available from Mahagenco was 5,116MW, about 3,536MW from NTPC, about 461MW from NPCIL and 2,394MW from Adani Power. The total contracted capacity of 1,200MW was available from RPL. Further, 588MW from CGPL, 280MW from JSW and 87MW from EMCO was available,” the statement said. In respect of generation from renewable energy source, 628MW was available from solar and 115MW from wind projects.

Lowest solar tariff underpins India’s clean energy transformation: IEEFAedit

Gujarat’s 500 MW solar tender results have delivered India’s record low tariff of Rs 2.44 per kilowatt and this underpins the country’s transformation to clean energy, US-based Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) said on Tuesday. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) on Monday repealed the equivalent auction they held back in March which saw the lowest bid at an unacceptable Rs 2.99 per kilowatt.
