The minister added that the government is keen on facilitating roll out of 5G services in India at par with world in 2020 which will play key role in harnessing new emerging technologies like machine-to machine communications, IoT, AI, etc.

Maharashtra govt to procure 1,000 electric vehicles in next one yearedit

Maharashtra government will be getting 1000 electric vehicles to be used by the government in the next one year, said power minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. He was speaking on Tuesday in an event where the first five electric vehicles were handed over to the Public Works Department (PWD) by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Officials said that these vehicles cost around Rs 15 lakh, and need 9 hours to be fully charged after that it can cover 120km.

Renewables may account for 18% of total power gen by 2022edit

The share of renewable energy in the country’s electricity generation mix is likely to rise to around 18 per cent by 2022, from 7.8 per cent at present, owing to the continuous focus on capacity addition from solar and wind, a report said Tuesday.
