Niti Aayog Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amitabh Kant today said the think tank has proposed abolishing road tax for electric vehicles in order to streamline India’s transition towards electric mobility. “In our meeting today, we have proposed to the chief secretaries of states that there should be no road tax for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and issuing green permit for EVs. When the EV revolution happens, India would be impacted in the biggest way,” Kant said at an industry event here.
