Niti Aayog Draws Plan for States to Spend .`11KCr for Buying Buseedit
Niti Aayog, the government’s think-tank, is firming up a plan to help state governments and local bodies all over the country to buy buses worth Rs 11,000 crore in a bid to improve public transport and revive demand for commercial vehicles. “Niti Aayog has prepared a plan for introduction of about 25,000 buses for urban users. These buses would be run on diesel,” a government official told ET.

Electric vehicles exempted from odd-even schemeedit
The Delhi government on Sunday decided to exempt electric vehicles from the odd- even road rationing scheme starting from November 4. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot in a statement said that the number of registered electric vehicles in the city was less than 1,000 and they are not likely to cause any congestion. “It has, therefore, been decided to exempt the electric vehicles from the odd- even restrictions,” he said.

Mitsui, TECO to set up plant for EV motors in Indiaedit
Japan’s Mitsui & Co on Thursday said it is planning to invest USD 14 million to set up a manufacturing facility for electric vehicle (EV) motors in India in partnership with Taiwanese motor manufacturer TECO Electric & Machinery Co. The new plant, which would come up in Bengaluru, is expected to commence full production by the end of next year with an installed capacity of around 1.10 lakh motors per year.

For the month of October 2019, Mahindra Electric has sold close to 2000 electric vehicles in India. The same was confirmed by Pawan Goenka, Managing Director Mahindra and Mahindra through his official Twitter account. Goenka was replying to a tweet by a user who was hoping for Mahindra Electric to be a part of growth for the company through sales numbers. To this, Goenka replied “You will be happy to know that between eVerito, eAlpha and Electric Treo mahindra retailed almost 2000 vehicles in October. Our highest EV sale in a moth ever.”
