Local EV tech tries to beat China importsedit
Heat management is crucial as the cells are manufactured in countries that have colder climes, unlike India, where the temperatures can breach the 40 degree Celsius mark. “Unlike cars, you do not have coolant space inside the scooter. So we have an aluminium casing on the battery that allows air to pass through. The individual cells need to have similar cur- rent holding capacity and through the algorithm we have developed, the ones with higher electricity pass it onto other cells. We also ensure a robust battery pack so that the battery does not pose a hazard in case of an accident,” says Ravneet Phokela, chief business officer at Ather Energy.
