Maharashtra to borrow over Rs 17,000 crore for agriculture solar pumpsedit

The State Cabinet on Wednesday gave its approval for the borrowing of Rs 17,000 crore from two financial institutions in a bid to strengthen network of agriculture solar pumps across the state.

The state will be market borrowing Rs 8,109 crore from Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Maharashtra power distribution enhancement programme for facilitating solarisation and expanding agricultural connections. Under this, power distribution network will be strengthened with increased capacity to ensure solar power is made available to farmers even during day time.

Tractor Domestic Market At 4 Yr Low But Exports Boom By 16% In Februaryedit

India’s tractor exports witnessed a revival in February after reporting degrowth for a year, even as domestic sales touched a four-year low. As per data from the Tractor and Mechanisation Association (TMA), total tractor exports reached 8,487 units last month. This figure represents a 16 per cent year-on-year increase compared to February 2023 and an 18 per cent increase compared to January 2024.
