Publishers close ‘copy’ book – Study material case retreat spreads cheer and concernedit
Three international publishers today moved court to withdraw a five-year-long lawsuit against photocopying of textbooks for use as study material in Delhi University.
The petition brings the curtains down on a battle whose outcome drew populist applause but left unanswered questions on ensuring the quality of specialised textbooks, just remuneration for scholars who write such books and the viability of the publishing business model.
The case had started in 2012 after the publishers moved the high court against the photocopy shop, Rameshwari Photocopy, on the campus of the Delhi School of Economics, which is part of Delhi University.

PRCAI holds first inter consultancy cricket tournament in New Delhiedit
The Public Relations Consultants Association of India (PRCAI) held its first Inter Consultancy Cricket Tournament at Gulmohar Club in New Delhi on March 4 and 5. Most of the member consultancies participated in the event.
Twelve teams from Adfactors PR, Avian Media, Edelman, Perfect Relations, The PRactice, Weber Shandwick, GBM, MSL Group, Media Mantra, Value 360, SPAG Asia and Text 100 vied for top honours. Value 360 went home with the trophy.
Edelman and GBM were announced as first and second runners-up, respectively. Avian Media was the fourth semi-finalist. Interestingly, it was mandatory for the consultancies to have four women players in their team. The women participants performed well, and excelled particularly in fielding.
