Talking about the tie-up, Goldie Srivastava, Co-Founder and CEO, SmartE, said that the partnership underscored the company’s commitment to making the last-mile commute easier, safer, affordable and eco-friendly. He added, “SUN Mobility’s Interoperable Smart Mobility solution will enable us to rapidly scale up our vision without having to worry about the energy infrastructure.”

The UT Administration has made plans to set up the city’s first charging station for electric vehicles at the new lake in Sector 42. According to the plan, the Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (Crest), the nodal agency to install solar plants in Chandigarh, has planned to install 800 KW solar plant at the new lake. Of these 800 KW, the UT administration will use 90 KW for charging station.

High prices for lithium and cobalt will hinder sales growth in battery-powered vehicles the next few years, according to HSBC Holdings Plc. Global market share by 2025 for fully electric vehicles will be lower than previously projected — 9.4 percent, compared with an earlier estimate of 10.5 percent, HSBC analysts Alexandre Falcao and Augusto Ensiki said in a report. At the same time, they doubled their forecast for plug-in hybrid EVs to 5.5 percent of the market by 2025, from 2.4 percent.
