AMD won CES 2020 with Ryzen 4000 mobile, but can it beat Intel? (PROACTIVE)edit

At CES 2020, AMD spent a lot of time talking about how it had a big 2019, and it definitely has the right to gloat. AMD Ryzen 3rd Generation processors have essentially made Intel irrelevant, especially since Team Blue showed up at CES 2020 with no desktop silicon to its name. No matter how exciting AMD’s takeover of the desktop space is, though, it has one giant roadblock before it can totally annihilate Intel in the consumer world: laptops.

AMD Unveils New Ryzen 4000 Processors; To Be Featured In High Performance ASUS and Lenovo Laptops (PROACTIVE)edit

Yesterday, AMD unveiled their new Ryzen 4000 series of processors for mobile devices at CES 2020. These new chips are promising, in performance and price. The new series will feature processors with up to 8 cores and 16 threads, and according to AMD, the new 4800U up to 4 per cent greater single-thread performance and up to 90 per cent faster multi-threaded performance than its competitors from Intel, and also up to 18% improvement in graphical performance.

AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 3990X, RADEON RX 5600 XT graphics card and more announced (PROACTIVE)edit

AMD made a handful of announcements at its CES 2020 press conference. It launched the highly-awaited Threadripper 3990X with 64 cores. In other processors, it launched the Ryzen 4000 series and Athlon 3000 series of mobile processors for laptops. The company also announced the Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics card along with a new specification for its adaptive sync technology called AMD FreeSync Premium and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

AMD Big Navi Radeon GPU Beats NVIDIA’s RTX 2080 Ti in Leaked Benchmark (PROACTIVE)edit

While AMD has historically struggled to beat NVIDIA’s best offerings, a new leak might turn the tables. In a new OpenVR benchmark leak, an upcoming Big Navi Radeon GPU has beaten the RTX 2080 Ti by almost 17% performance lead. What’s interesting here is that in the CPU column we only see an unidentified engineering sample number, which might point to a high-performance Navi card.
