Intel has announced its first discrete GPU at the CES 2020. The chipmaker claims that its GPU codenamed as “DG1” is the first big step towards the future computing ambitions. The company even showed a live demo of Destiny 2 running on the new GPU. Lack of discrete cards has been a big problem for Intel. The company had to team up with the rival firm, AMD to create a hybrid line of Core i5 GPUs. The company did not comment on AMD’s Ryzen 4000 APU announcement. The keynote focused on AI, video-encoding enhancements as well. Intel has not clarified when it will launch the DG1.

DPIIT, Ecomm Cos to Discuss Data Storage in Draft Policyedit

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has convened a meeting of industry representatives from IT and e-commerce sec- tors on January 14 to discuss the merits and demerits of draft e- commerce policy on data storage, sources said. Representatives from different companies including Accenture, Adobe, Facebook, Genpact, Google, HCL, Infosys, Intel, Microsoft and TCS are expected to participate in the deliberations, they said.
